At the Munich Science Communication Lab, we actively bridge the gap between research and practice. Our practice-oriented projects focus on developing innovative formats, fostering dialogue between science and society, and addressing important questions. By integrating evaluation and co-creation, we ensure impactful and inclusive communication strategies that resonate with diverse audiences, rooted in current scientific evidence and expertise. In our practice efforts we are partnering with other local partners in Munich’s Science Communication Hub.
Our practice efforts revolve around the growing field of Planetary Health. This transdisciplinary field will allow for a large variety of topics to be explored. In an open call we focused on food and food systems and were able to initiate a variety of creative science communication formats with people from different academic backgrounds. In our exhibitions we collaborate closely with our museum partners – especially with the Deutsches Museum and their own Science Communication Lab. We also collaborate with multipliers to improve education in the field of science communication – both in formal and informal settings. Last but not least, in our engagement with the public, we try to get society involved in matters of Planetary Health.
